Create a space in your house that is just for you. It could be a favorite chair or some cushions in a corner of a room. Add some favorite photos, a scented candle, and maybe your favorite book.
When I was a girl, I had a tree in the backyard that belonged to me. When I was under the tree, no one could bother me. I could lie on the ground and close my eyes; and listen to the birds singing, the wind blowing through the leaves, and be present in the moment. You can create that same sense of being in the present, calmly aware of your surroundings.
